Tabouli Finished

Well it’s blocked and the buttons are on it and I’m very happy with the results.  Really upped my “sweater game” with this pattern with the help of the KAL group on Ravelry and the on line tutorials by the designer Carol Feller.  Learned a lot of new stuff (well to me anyway).  I learned short row sleeve caps, having a sweater with saddle bands and one row button holes.  I also had to hit a couple of Youtube videos and on how to sew in CORRECTLY a shank button.  It’s easy on fabric but sort of a booger on a knitted item.  I thought it would be hard to find (around where I live anyway) buttons to match but I lucked out and found great matching buttons in the right size at Joann’s Fabrics.  The back up plan was to look for colorless clear buttons.

So it’s rather hot here for New England but nothing compared to when we lived in the Central CA area and the humidity here is nothing compared to living in Southern Maryland and VA.  The temps are due to drop drastically soon so maybe I’ll get a chance to wear this sport weight sweater soon.

It is gorgeous!!! I love the lace detail and the back patterning. Great job! You will want to wear it constantly.

Thanks Chris...I think you were right about not going with a zipper on this one. I would like to try a zipper one day though.
