Ireland Bound

I'm going to Ireland next year!!!  In the spirit of that event, I'm making the Stone Walls vest designed by Cheryl Oberle from her book "Folk Vests".

The pattern calls for an Irish yarn, Black Water Abbey (wool/color Bracken). One of the girls on Ravelry was selling her Black Water Abbey so I bought it.  There was some mention that it may or may not have been smuggled into the United States in the bottom of a golf bag. Shhhhhh what VAT tax?

As soon as I finish the Nordic Trail vest (progressing nicely), I'll start this one.

Cabled Cuff Socks

Glad these are done.  I ran out of yarn and couldn't make them the usual size.  I had to turn them into ankle socks.  The pattern is called "Cabled Cuff Socks" from the book "Knitted Socks" by Anna Tillman.  The book might be out of print.  I found a copy dirt cheap at a second hand book store in Boothbay, Maine.  The cable cuff is knit first and joined.  Then stitches are picked up and worked down to the tow. I reinforced the heel and dropped down a needle size to do it.  Definitely going to make another pair but I'll be sure to have more than 100 grams of yarn.

Noro Hitchhiker

Finished another Hitchhiker scarf.  It's a brainless pattern.  I used Noro sock yarn for this one.
